You’re hired: Allied World lends support to BFIS Bermuda Intern Programme
The employment picture brightened with the announcement that Allied World Assurance Company Ltd (AWAC) have hired ‘several’ participants in the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies (BFIS) Bermuda Intern Programme during its existence.Frank D’Orazio, president, Bermuda and international insurance, Allied World, made the statement at a meeting between the representatives of the re/insurer, Michael Fisher, BFIS chairman, and the interns.And Mr. D’Orazio said: “We are proud to again sponsor the BFIS Bermuda programme, and to host the programme’s students at Allied World’s global offices in support of work-shadowing.“Each year, BFIS engages a group of bright, ambitious undergraduates as part of their programme, from which we’ve hired several talented men and women to work at Allied World full time following graduation.“The BFIS Bermuda internship is a wonderful opportunity for students interested in the insurance industry, and we are committed to educating young people about the global marketplace and supporting their professional development.“We look forward to our sponsorship of next year’s programme.”Mr Fisher said Allied World have supported the Foundation’s programme for 11 years while he was thanking Mr D’Orazio for AWAC support.“Allied World has provided substantial financial donations over the years and we are delighted that they have chosen to focus their support on Summer Intern Programme that BFIS runs in Bermuda for three weeks each summer.Useful website: www.bfis.bm
