Opening batsman Chris Douglas will be wearing two hats at Lord’s this weekend . . . literally.Today Douglas will wear the colours of St David’s as they bid to win back the coveted Eastern Counties Cup when they take on Bailey’s Bay in the second round ob Saturday. Then on Sunday Douglas will be in the blue and white of Cleveland as they aim to halt the St David’s push towards another Premier League title when his league team take on the unbeaten leaders with just two league matches remaining.Douglas was part of a Willow Cuts team that lost a title decider to Bay last year at Somerset after his exploits with the bat threatened to land a first title for Cuts before Bay eventually won the match by 20 runs.Now Cleveland find themselves in a similar situation as they bid to win the league for the first time.Cleveland have been the season’s surprise team and sit in third place, level on 120 points with Willow Cuts, a point behind Rangers and 17 behind leaders St. David’s.Willow Cuts’ title aspirations might just be hinge on their recent rain out match with Devonshire Rec which they tried to have rescheduled.Victory for St David’s tomorrow would eliminate Cleveland from the race with one game remaining and leave St David’s on the brink of the title. However, Cleveland have shown themselves to be capable of beating the top teams after recently pulling off an exciting victory over Bay at Sea Breeze Oval, and victory over St David’s will take the race down to the wire with four teams in contention.St David’s have the toughest last two games as they also have to play Willow Cuts next weekend while Rangers close out their season at home to Devonshire Rec tomorrow and away to Bailey’s Bay next Sunday.Regardless how the season finishes, St. David’s Southampton, Cleveland and Willow Cuts will be the teams playing in the Belco Cup next season as there is a 34 point gap between Cuts and fifth placed St George’s.Cuts play PHC at PHC Field tomorrow while St George’s host Flatts at Wellington Oval. Somerset Bridge entertain Bailey’s Bay at White Hill and Western Stars meet Warwick at St. John’s Field.
