May 14, 2013Dear SirDr Brown may be educated but in some areas he’s a little hard to explain.His recent comment that “ ... the Auditor General could not be racist by definition ...” is a case in point. And I accept that I understood his rationale to be because she is black it is remotely possible, but not very likely, that he meant something else.Racism is the belief that race is a determining factor in the inherent superiority of one race over another. A racist is one who believes and practices that definition. I looked up the definition of race and, for the purpose of this letter, let’s just say we’re talking about Blacks and Whites.Unless he’s planning to redefine the word which is entirely possible bearing in mind the exalted light in which he sees himself I’d say that the rest of mankind could be persuaded that anybody could be a racist.SKY LARKINHamilton
