Rotary celebrates 40 years of its exchange programme

Former and current exchange students gathered yesterday at Government House to celebrate 40 years of the Rotary programme.More than 30 former exchange students and four current exchange students shared stories and memories of their experiences.Karen Jones, who visited France on the programme in 1999, and Garon Wilkinson, who went to Brazil in 1996, both said the experience was memorable, exposing them to different cultures and new friends.German exchange student Jonas Bülow, who has been on the Island since August, said he has thoroughly enjoyed his time here.“It’s very different from Germany, particularly the people’s personalities,” he said. “It’s been a great experience. It’s probably been the best year of my life so far.”
