Man threw stone
Court reports were ordered on an unemployed Pembroke man after he admitted throwing a rock at his ex-girlfriend.Garrett Burrows, 45, of Court Street, admitted assaulting Zina Richardson on June 5.Crown counsel Larissa Burgess told Magistrates’ Court that Burrows and Ms Richardson had been in a relationship which ended last year.On the day in question, Burrows phoned Ms Richardson and told her he still had some of her possessions.They met at Rambling Lane, Pembroke where Burrows gave her a bag of her clothing. As shewalked away, he shouted: “You don’t have anything to say to me?”Ms Richardson agreed. Moments later she was struck in the lower back by a rock. Burrows then shouted “that’s what you get”, before riding away on his motorcycle.He then allegedly accosted her again on Middletown Road as she walked home, but he rode away after she began to scream.Burrows admitted throwing the stone, saying: “Two wrongs don’t make a right. I’m going to apologise for my wrongdoings.”Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered that a social inquiry report be carried out on Burrows, who admitted being in treatment for drug addiction.
