Woman hurt in crash

A man was arrested for impaired driving and a woman was injured in two separate incidents on Bermuda’s roads.A police spokesman said the arrest happened around 3am on Sunday when police on Parsons Road, Devonshire, saw a motorcycle being ridden in an erratic manner.The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old Smith’s man, was stopped and appeared to be intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and detained. A court appearance is anticipated in due course.Around 6pm on Friday, emergency services attended a collision at the junction of Middle Road and Chapel Road in Paget.A motorcycle was being ridden along Middle Road and a car being driven along Chapel Road were in collision.“The motorcycle rider, a 30-year-old Warwick woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment; however her injuries did not appear to be serious,” said a spokesman.No other injuries were reported, but both vehicles were damaged.Anyone with information should contact Pc Courtney Simmons on 295-0011.
