Reeking of dictatorship
October 18, 2012Dear Sir,Yesterday, October 17, 2012, the PLP Government ordered that the OBA posters be removed from public property, bus shelters, even though there appears to be no law against it.Commentators have advised of PLP posters on bus shelters that have been in place for some time and noted the PLP posters all along our public property, road side verges, during the last election. This smells like a double standard. The Ruth Seaton James Auditorium is public property but last night, the same day the PLP Government tore down the OBA’s posters, it was emblazoned with PLP posters. The PLP may have paid for the use of the hall and feel able to do what they wish. Why is it that our PLP Government can advertise as it wishes on public property but prevents any opposition party from doing the same? I fully expect some spin in the answer but this censorship decision of our current Government reeks of a dictatorship where it’s their party’s way or the gulag! This PLP approach to any opposition has been going on since 2007. Look at where we are now.FRIGHTENED ABOUT WHAT IS NEXTPembroke
