BCB to hold courses to help coaches

Bermuda Cricket Board are offering a series of free coaching and administrative courses to help club coaches and administrators upgrade their skills.The first course will be one on forming a club and organising a tournament by facilitator Allen Richardson on October 30 at the BCB offices at Charities House on Point Finger Road. The community cricket module is aimed at improving the practical skills of community cricket administrators in organising small cricket tournaments and clubs.Registration deadline is October 26 for the course which will run from 6 to 9pm.National coach David Moore will be the facilitator for the ICC level one coaching course which will run for five days (November 19, 21, 26, 28 and December 1) from 6 to 8.30pm on weekdays and 9am to 4pm on Saturday, December 1. All sessions will be held at Bermuda High School gym and participants will learn how to coach bowling, fielding and batting and plan detailed training sessions. The registration deadline is November 8.Coach Moore will also conduct a specialists coach education programme on three nights (December 3, 10 and 17) to enhance the technical and tactical understanding of coaches across the four domains of the game.Lawyer Cheryl Ann Mapp will facilitate the final course on effective meetings on December 4 at Charities House with the aim to develop the skills of administrators.Those attending will learn the roles that meetings play in clubs the key requirements of effective committee meetings and understand common meeting procedures, agenda motions, voting and taking minutes.
