Time running out for charities to apply for End-to-End funds

Charities hoping to benefit from the annual Catlin End-to-End fundraiser have until next month to apply. The event raises about $250,000 each year, which is then divided among worthy charities .“We have a formal application process for charities wishing to be considered recipients of our funds. Successful applicants will be selected according to their benefit to the community, their ability to engender the support and enthusiasm of our fundraising participants, and their proven record of spending donations wisely and responsibly,” said End-to-End chair Anne Mello.“It is heartening to see more participants than ever have supported our event, even as the economy has declined. But at the same time the economic downturn means less money raised. We therefore have to ensure the charities we support are addressing the most urgent needs in the community.”The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, November 7 at 5pm.Registered charities wishing to be considered for funding should submit a confidential application providing detailed information about the organisation, the project or programme to be funded, and its impact on the community. Recipient charities must be non-political and not related to a religious group or sect, and must support local charities doing work in Bermuda.Application forms are available on www.bermudaendtoend.bm under the Charity section. For assistance telephone 292-6992.
