September 19, 2012Dear Sir,I must comment briefly on “Truth Speaks from Devonshire”.Your comparison of President Obama to the PLP and the Republicans to the OBA is just not valid. Poor Obama inherited a mess and has only had four years to fix it that is the truth. But every Bermudian knows the PLP inherited a vibrant economy and surpluses and it has been 14 years since they took over, not four. Now the economy is a disaster that will wreak hardship on the average Bermudian for the next decade, even if the OBA get in and sorts out the mess quickly. Someone has to pay that money back. The rich will hurt, but not as much as we average Bermudians.The list of meagre accomplishments of the PLP in 14 years is close to pathetic for the amount of time and money spent and the average Bermudian will not be fooled by your attempt to bamboozle them. The average Bermudian is now far better educated than to nod their heads and believe your rhetoric. The average Bermudian is now being personally affected by the PLP policies and lack of ideas and leadership. The PLP are not Obama in any way, shape or form.What is true is that it is time for a change. The PLP needs to be removed, for who knows what condition Bermuda will be with five more years of PLP guidance.CHANGE MERCHANTDevonshire
