Pamela Barit Nolan has resigned as Executive Director of the Centre on Philanthropy.She has served in the role since November 2005.The announcement was made by Chairman of The Centre, Brian Madeiros.He said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to acknowledge Pamela for her diligence, leadership and the important part she played in ensuring that non-profit, volunteers and donors have the information, support and resources they need to make a real difference in our community.“I am sure you will join me in wishing her well as she prepares herself for a new career in direct service. A committee to find her successor is in place and the board is confident that a smooth transition will be achieved in the new year.”The Centre had just 68 members when Ms Barit Nolan joined, and now has more than 300.She said: “Helping The Centre become a strong and sustainable support organisation for the non-profit sector has been one of the most rewarding jobs I have had.“With an extremely supportive board and a superb staff, we have built an organisation that ensures non-profit receive the help they need to make a positive impact on the community.“While I have truly enjoyed my role supporting our community’s philanthropists through The Centre, I now wish to pursue opportunities working with women and children in particular.“In 2013, I plan to explore further training that will give me the tools to move into that area of service.”The Centre on Philanthropy was created by a group of volunteers in 1991 to encourage an attitude of giving, promote volunteerism, and to document charitable behaviours and issues in Bermuda.Useful website: www.centreonphilanthropy.org.
