Eastern Counties rivals Bailey’s Bay and St. David’s will meet tonight in the first of three matches in eight days when they contest the coveted Lindo’s T20 final at Somerset Cricket Club.Bay, who beat St. David’s to win the Belco Cup in May, will go into tonight’s match as favourites, having taken over the lead in the Logic Premier Division where they remain the only unbeaten team.They will put that unbeaten record on the line on Sunday when they host the defending 50-overs champions at Sea Breeze Oval in what will be a preview of the much-anticipated Eastern Counties second round clash next Saturday at the same venue.Tonight’s clash under lights should be a close encounter as both teams were comfortable winners in semi-finals there over the last three weeks.St. David’s beat Willow Cuts by 94 runs while Bay stopped Southampton Rangers by eight wickets. Both teams will feature players who played in Cup Match a week ago, Bay led by captain Stephen Outerbridge, Rodney Trott, Terryn Fray and Kyle Hodsoll while St. David’s will be hoping Fiqre Crockwell, Delyone Borden, Justin Pitcher and Stefan Kelly will bounce back from their defeat in Cup Match with St. George’s.Stephen Outerbridge, captain of Bailey’s Bay, believes the rivalry that exists between the two teams should make for an exciting final.“The Lindos T20 tournament has become a major part of the senior domestic season and Bailey’s Bay Cricket Club is very excited to have an opportunity to capture this prestigious trophy,” said Outerbridge who was part of Somerset’s winning Cup Match team seven days ago.“I am looking forward to having the opportunity to beat our Eastern County rivals St. David’s, and hopefully it will give us the momentum needed to be successful on August 12 (50 overs League) and August 18 (Eastern Counties).
