Two Bermudian men have been arrested on charges they smuggled “illegal drugs” into the Island from New Jersey.The pair was arrested following a joint investigation between the Bermuda Police Service and the US Department of Homeland Security.Said a Police spokesman: “This combined law enforcement effort enabled officers to identify and disrupt an organised crime network which prevented dangerous drugs from reaching our community.“This operation is evidence of the Bermuda Police Service’s and our partner agencies commitment to combat the trafficking of illegal drugs into Bermuda.”The men are expected to appear in court in the near future, the spokesman added.
