German firm to market Bermuda in Europe
The Ministry of Tourism has hired a new firm to market the Island in parts of Europe.German-based Eyes2market will provide “full-service sales, marketing and public relations representation” in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for a year.The contract went into effect this month.Said Tourism director William Griffith: “Business from the German market increased by 12 percent in 2011 and we feel there is potential there to attract more visitors.”Eyes2market will conduct training sessions and special events in conjunction with tour operators and media to promote the destination.“We are extremely proud to represent Bermuda,” said Eyes2market managing director Simone Rösel. “We know there are tremendous opportunities to promote the destination in German-speaking markets and we look forward to working closely with the Department of Tourism to maximise the destination’s potential.”
