The number of Covid-19 cases hit the 50 mark yesterday.

Kim Wilson said that two more tests had come back positive.

She added 28 had recovered, eight were hospitalised and were still under public health monitoring, but did not need hospitalisation.

Ms Wilson said: “The good news is that three persons who were previously hospitalised have now been discharged from hospital, giving us all hope that recovery can be possible.”

She added that the ministry had been given a total of 47 test results since Thursday, with 45 of them clear.

One of the new cases came in from abroad and the other had been in contact with an infected person.

The age of Covid-19 patients in hospital ranged from 58 to 78 with an average age of 68.

David Burt, the Premier, said the Bermuda Government would not provide a testing update on Good Friday or Easter Sunday “in the spirit of this weekend, which is the holiest on the Christian calendar”.

Ms Wilson also thanked people for following shelter in place guidelines.

She told the public: “Please remember that what may be a minor inconvenience for you may be saving the life of your neighbour, grandmother, friend, or even your own.

“Stay inside and stay safe, Bermuda.”
