Reflect on your inner being
May 28, 2012Dear Sir,Who are them? Who are you? Who are they? More importantly who am I? Do I know? I think I do, but do I? Matter of fact, yes, I know exactly who I am! But do I? Do you?Sometimes in life you have quiet moments that you find yourself wondering about your self being, what your life was, what your life is, and what you want your life to be.Growing up somehow, some way it seems we need to put up a shield to consciously or, in most cases unconsciously, portray to others who we want them to see. Some are inside here, others out there, some are leaders, others followers. When you are in prison it is a time for true and honest reflection of your life, where your life was, is, and where you want your life to be. If you are willing, then God is able.If you’re prepared to change your life then you need to look within yourself to find who you truly are. It isn’t far! Just under the surface is the real you, waiting to be seen and heard.Quiet time is my time, and your time. Together it is our time. Our personal timeouts, to reflect on own lives, our personal achievements, or to face our demons. We don’t need to be in a cell to hear life’s bell.It could be midday or midnight, the lights still go out. When they do and the space in your mind is dark and you begin to gather your thoughts it’s a time to ask, who am I? If your mind is drifting elsewhere while attempting to listen to this, the silence echoes the corridors, the air above and around you. That voice that you hear, don’t be disturbed. It’s your inner-being striving to be heard. No one to talk tough to, intimidate, laugh or cry. No one to jive, con, too Lie to or have fun at someone’s expense. Me time, no gangs, no brothers in arms, family or friends. No Just me and my thoughts wherever fate allows.Get up, stand strong, then look in the mirror and ask yourself to unveil itself to you. Come one, come all, let’s unleash you, and let the real you be seen and heard. Who am I?BROWNLOW ADDERLEYSouthampton
