Frenchman succumbs to injuries after fall
A 56-year-old Frenchman who fell into the waters of Devil's Hole over the weekend succumbed to his injuries earlier today.The man's name has not been officially released. According to his employers, his nearest of kin have been notified.The accident took place at the Devil's Hole turn of Harrington Sound Road at around 5pm on Saturday. Witnesses at the scene said the victim fell after losing his balance while sitting on a wall by the waterside, and appeared to have struck his head on shoreline rocks.The man's employer retrieved him from the water with the help of a passer by, followed by police. He was treated on the scene by EMTs and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where he had remained in critical condition.The deceased, a long-term resident of Bermuda, lived in Pembroke.
