‘Disappointed but not discouraged’
Bermuda’s would be X Factor contestant Ryan Bean is “disappointed but not discouraged” now that he won’t be in the starting line up of the international singing competition after all.Mr Bean received word last Wednesday that he did not make the final cut for the fall presentation in the UK.The letter signed by The X Factor Team, dated May 14 said: “Unfortunately, on this occasion you have not been successful in going through to the next stage of auditions.”After an unprecedented number of entries this year the judges said: “We were overwhelmed with the number of people auditioning and the high standard of talent”.They also thanked Mr Bean and other candidates “for taking the time to audition for The X Factor 2012”, and wished him “all the luck in the future”.Disappointed but still enthusiastic and upbeat Mr Bean said: “I felt I did my best, I didn’t just bring my voice to the UK and I thought I was well received, but it is still comforting to know that I’m the first Bermudian to apply to make it this far.”To his many supporters he said: “I would never be able to thank everybody who was there for me throughout this whole experience and it was worth it. Thank you so much.”In hindsight Mr Bean the competition “enhanced” him as a performer.“I got inspiration for my music career and I think this whole experience has given me more exposure and opportunities to share my gift with my own people,” he said. “And it has helped to open more doors.”To young, up and coming artists, Mr Bean said the main thing is to “stay focused”.On that note he said: “Never lose focus even when your plan doesn’t go according to your plan, that just means God has an even greater plan in store; and the best is yet to come.”
