Weather forces cancellation of today’s Family Fun day
Inclement weather has forced the postponement of the Family Fun Day planned for today by the Future Bermuda Alliance, the youth arm of One Bermuda Alliance. The event was to be held at Mullet Bay Park but with more rain and thunderstorms in the forecast, the organisers opted to move the date to June 2.Spokeswoman Nandi Davis said: “We are very grateful for the rain, so we would not wish it to stop. But our Family Fun Day cannot go on in this weather as we want to make the most out of this day as we can.“We have decided to postpone this event until June 2 giving everyone even more time to be able to tell your friends about it,” said Ms Davis.Featured as the highlight of the event will be a fundraising auction for charity to dunk OBA candidates, MP’s and Senators in water. Ms Davis said today, the postponement will “give all some more time for target practice for the dunking tank”.Proceeds raised will go to the St George’s Foundation and the Beyond Sports Association. The FBA will also use the rescheduled event to celebrate their one year anniversary marking the formation of the OBA.
