Witness appeal reissued for machete fight

Anyone who witnessed Good Friday’s machete fight next to Southampton Rangers cricket club is urged to get in touch with police.A man remains in hospital following the brawl, involving eight people, yards from where children played on a bouncy castle at a cricket club fun day.The Royal Gazette previously told how residents reported seeing the victim get chopped in the head during the fight, which took place at about 6.15pm.It’s understood nobody has yet been charged over the incident.A police spokeswoman said yesterday: “Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with any information with regard to the serious assault that occurred on Friday in the area of Southampton Rangers.“As a result of a disturbance, one man was wounded and conveyed to KEMH via ambulance.
