BF&M rises 3.3%
Insurer BF&M Ltd’s share price rose more than three percent in the week after it announced its intended $68 million acquisition of Caribbean insurer Island Heritage.The company’s shares rose 50 cents, or 3.3 percent, in Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) trading yesterday to close on $15.50, after 5,000 shares traded.BF&M was the only mover among domestic-board companies. Butterfield Bank traded, with 2,000 shares changing hands, but remained unchanged at $1.10. Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd saw 183 shares exchanged and remained on $11.The Royal Gazette/BSX Index advanced 3.45 points, or 0.34 percent, to end the day on 1,021.47.The volume of shares traded was 7,183 and turnover totalled $81,255.50.The BSX Insurance Index dipped nine points, or 0.86 percent, to close on 1,039.
