A motorcyclist ended up in the Intensive Care Unit after his auxiliary cycle came into collision with an SUV in Warwick.A police spokesman said the emergency services attended the collision at the junction of South Road and Tribe Road No1 around 9.15pm on Friday.“It appears that an auxiliary cycle was travelling along South Road and a SUV was travelling along Tribe Road No1 when the vehicles collided at the junction,” said the spokesman.“The auxiliary cycle rider was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.“The rider’s injuries were initially thought to be serious; however a subsequent check at the hospital indicated that the injuries do not appear to be life threatening at this time.”The man, aged 46, from Pembroke, was treated in the ICU until yesterday when he was moved to a general ward. A hospital spokeswoman described his condition as “stable” last night.Later on Friday evening, around 10.30pm, police attended a collision between a car and auxiliary cycle at the junction of Court Street and Angle Street in Pembroke.The spokesman said: “It appears that a car was travelling along Court Street and an auxiliary cycle was travelling along Angle Street when the vehicles collided at the junction. The auxiliary cycle was extensively damaged while the car received moderate damage. There were no reported injuries.”Any witnesses to the Warwick collision should contact PC Lesa Stovell on 295-0011.
