Advice to wear masks in shops
Residents have been advised by the Government to wear cloth face masks when they visit shops and gas stations.
Updated social distancing guidelines asked people to avoid the use of surgical masks if possible.
The Ministry of Health guidance said: “The use of cloth and homemade face masks is recommended for all persons whilst in indoor public places to protect others from possible infection.
“Avoid the use of surgical masks if possible, as these supplies are best reserved for healthcare settings.
“When making essential purchases in grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations, practise strict social distancing: maintain a physical separation of six feet from other shoppers. Wearing a cloth face mask is recommended.”
Bermuda residents are permitted limited movement from 7am to 7pm for essential tasks only during the 14 day shelter in place period, which started today.
