Talks between KFC and the Bermuda Industrial Union are continuing as the two sides work to settle a dispute over the collective bargaining agreement between the union and the restaurant.Following a meeting on Wednesday, Director of Kentucky Fried Chicken (Bermuda) Limited Jason Benevides confirmed that representatives “remain in discussions about outstanding labour relations issues”.The Queen Street eatery was the scene of a display of union solidarity in December, when KFC cancelled its contract with the BIU.KFC’s collective bargaining agreement with the union covered 36 restaurant employees. The agreement came up for discussion in April last year, when KFC’s contract with the union expired.Senior representatives from both sides have met this month, assisted by the Department of Labour, to settle their differences.“Pursuant to an agreement between the parties, no further media comment will be made at this time while discussions are ongoing,” Mr Benevides said.
