A teenaged girl was taken to hospital after being assaulted, police said today.In a statement a Police spokeswoman said: "Around 11.50am on Wednesday, January 18, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence in the South Road, Paget area, near the junction with Cobbs Hill Road."A member of the public reportedly found the victim; a 17-year-old Paget woman outside the home and contacted paramedics."The injured teenager was conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check was in stable condition on a general ward. Inquiries are ongoing."Police are appealing for any witnesses, particularly anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen two or three men travelling in a car to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011."
