Senior civil service posts advertised

Cabinet Secretary Donald Scott

Government is looking to fill three senior civil service positions. Two of the positions advertised in the Official Gazette on Friday are for Permanent Secretaries, and the other is for an Assistant Cabinet Secretary.“The vacancies have been covered by Acting Appointments. Recruitment is underway to fill these key positions on a substantive basis,” said Secretary to the Cabinet Donald Scott when asked the reasons for the recruitment.Successful applicants will receive a starting salary of $179,572.The Permanent Secretary’s role “is to provide an effective management link between a Minister of Government and the Departments to be included in the Minister’s portfolio” according to the recruitment advertisement.And the Assistant Cabinet Secretary (Service Delivery and Performance) will report to the Cabinet Secretary and “provide a suite of senior executive services to the Cabinet Office to ensure the delivery of Government-mandated programmes and services. The postholder will collaborate with permanent secretaries on policy priorities and assure operational plans are in place for delivery of programmes and other services”.Closing date for applying for both posts is January 11, 2012.
