CCTV footage from the area has also been seized and forms part of the enquiry.“Detectives are still keen to speak with the patrons of the Gravity nightclub who were outside the club around the time the shooting occurred.“It is not imperative that witnesses necessarily saw the incident, although clearly that is of special importance to the enquiry team. Persons that were in the area still may be able to assist in piecing together events as they unfolded.”He added: “It is important to reiterate that information received will be treated in strictest confidence, and measures are in place to assist with witness protection for persons that come forward to give evidence.”This was the third gun incident in the same area lately. A shooting in the early hours of Saturday, October 8 left a man injured and a loaded gun was found there early on Saturday, November 5 after police chased two men.Constituency MP Patrice Minors has expressed shock over the latest attack, saying: “Like the rest of Bermuda, I too was saddened to hear about the recent shooting at Gravity nightclub.“It’s a very shocking situation, to happen so close to the holidays, and my thoughts certainly go out to the victim and his family at this distressing time.”Mrs Minors, who is also Minister of Business Development and Tourism, added: “The Bermuda Police Service has been appealing for witnesses to come forward and I want to echo those pleas for anyone with any information to please share what they know about this incident.“The police have had some recent success in apprehending those who are involved in gun violence and residents should feel encouraged that if they share what they know, it will be properly acted on by the police.“I hope to visit with some of the neighbouring residents leading up to the holidays to hear their concerns and also reassure them that all possible resources are being employed to find those responsible for this heinous act and bring them to justice.”Anyone with information that could help the investigation should call the Serious Crime Unit can on 247-1079 or the independent Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
