Devonshire Cougars 4St David’s 1Devonshire Cougars moved to the top of the BFA standings for at least 24 hours after their win over St David’s at Devonshire Rec.The hosts got goals from Moses Steede, Domico Coddington, Che Brangman and Lejuan Simmons, while the Islanders got their strike through Fiqre Crockwell.In a game that was even throughout the first half, it was Simmons that opened the scoring midway through the opening stanza, but the lead didn’t last to the break with Crockwell levelling matters.Coddington then put the Big Cats back in the lead early in the second half, and the lead was doubled through Steede, although St David’s had a strong claim for a penalty before Cougars’ third.With the air out of the visitors sail, it was left to Brangman to put the final touches on what was always going to be a comfortable home win.The result leaves St Davis’s rooted to the bottom of the table with a crucial fixture against fellow-struggler Boulevard next on the horizon.
