Bermuda beaten in Sevens Plate final

Bermuda were beaten 26-14 by USA South in the Bowl final of the NACRA Sevens Rugby Championships in Barbados at the weekend.Kris Furbert and Gareth Williams scored Bermuda’s tries, which were both converted by Ian Henderson.Coached by Lawrence Bird, Bermuda finished third in their group and received a bye into the semi-finals of the Bowl competition as Bahamas failed to send a team.Against Curacao in the semis, Bermuda won 29-5 with Williams (2), Jack Ellison and Tom Healy scoring the tries.In the pool stage games, played in difficult rainy conditions, Bermuda beat USA South 17-7, but lost to Mexico 7-5 and Cayman Islands 17-0.
