Teenager flown overseas after road crash

A teenage girl has been flown overseas for treatment after a crash yesterday.According to a Police spokesman, at about 8pm, police and first responders attended a road crash on Verdmont Road, in Smith’s, near the junction with Sayle Road involving a car and a motorcycle.The spokesman said: “It appears that both vehicles were traveling along Verdmont Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old St George’s man and his pillion passenger, a 17-year-old St George’s woman, were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.“The pillion passenger was reportedly flown overseas for further medical care. The driver of the car, a 33-year-old St George’s woman, received minor injuries. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Any witnesses to this collision are encouraged to contact Pc Walter Jackson on 295-0011.”
