Woman victim of handbag snatch
A 43-year-old woman was the victim of a handbag snatch when two men rode up alongside her and grabbed her bag.Police said that at 12.30pm yesterday, officers attended the incident which happened on Watlington Road East in Devonshire.A spokeswoman said: “It appears that the victim, a 43-year-old Devonshire woman was walking along Watlington Road East when two unknown men on a blue motorcycle rode alongside the victim, grabbing her handbag as they passed.“The black bag contained a cellular phone, wallet and personal items. The suspects fled the scene on their motorcycle heading east. The victim was not injured.“The rider of the motorcycle is described as a brown-skinned male in his early 20s, wearing a dark coloured helmet and dark coloured clothing. The passenger is described as a brown-skinned male wearing a red t-shirt and a black helmet. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.”
