Tropical Storm Maria was today declared a potential threat to Bermuda.The storm is expected to strengthen into a Category One hurricane as it nears the Island later this week.The Bermuda Weather Service forecast says: “The western flank of the Bermuda-Azores high ensures mostly fine and dry weather for the next couple of days with only the odd shower expected. On Wednesday, winds are expected to increase towards strong with enhanced shower activity, as Tropical Storm Maria approaches from the southwest and strengthens to hurricane status.”
