Gospel singers can audition to sing with Grammy Award winner

Local gospel singers can show off their talent at an audition taking place at City Hall tomorrow.Six finalists are being sought to compete for the opportunity to perform with Grammy Awardwinning singer and television host Dr Bobby Jones at the 2011 Bermuda Gospel Festival.Organiser Kevin Bean, of KBD Entertainment, said the eventual winner would appear before a global television audience of 90 million on the Word Network and would get the chance to record a song.“We are thrilled to open the doors to local Bermuda talent for the Divine Voices Competition,” he said.Demmette Guidry, who is said to have discovered gospel sensation Mary Mary, will judge the competition.The auditions start at 4pm and Mr Bean advised participants to arrive early, bringing with them a two-minute music track of the gospel song they wish to accompany them.To register for the audition, e-mail www.bermudagospelfestival[AT]gmail.com or call 504-8790.The Divine Voices competition will take place on Saturday, August 26, as part of the first Bermuda Gospel Festival.l Useful website: www.bermudagospelfestival.com.
