Police make third major drugs bust of the week

Police have made their third drugs bust this week, seizing about 15 cannabis plants in the Cedar Park Road area of Devonshire.At about 8pm on Thursday officers attended the area responding to a report on cannabis cultivation.They spotted what are believed to be about 15 cannabis plants growing outside. No arrests were made at the scene and inquiries into this matter are ongoing. The latest drugs bust came the day after police seized more than $10 million worth of drugs at a home in South Road, Warwick.Two men were arrested after the stash including cannabis, heroin, cocaine, hash and live ammunition was found. Just hours earlier a large number of cannabis plants believed to be about 115 were found growing in a wooded area in Kitchener Close, Boaz Island, Sandys.These discoveries followed two recent seizures of cannabis plants in St David’s by police a large haul was collected from a Smith’s Hill Drive property at the beginning of this month.Four-foot-tall potted plants were found in a “heavily vegetated” area of St David’s a week earlier, on June 27.
