One of Bermuda’s pilots stepped in this week for a container ship, after chief officer on the Oleander had to undergo medical treatment.Pilot Nicholas Maynard was dispatched from Marine and Ports, to oversee the return voyage to New Jersey of the Bermuda Container Line vessel.“This sort of public-private partnership is essential in keeping Bermuda working,” Transport Minister Terry Lister, as the regular officer yesterday rejoined the Oleander.Pilot Maynard has been flown home from the US.
