Police netted thousands of dollars worth of cannabis, heroin and cocaine in two separate drug hauls yesterday. In the first, officers acting on a tip-off swooped on a secluded property on Kitchener Close in Boaz Island where they seized 115 cannabis plants.A police spokesman said the plants were found "in various stages of growth and looked well cared for".The spokesman hailed the public cooperation that led to the discovery, calling it "yet another example of the community working together with the police to eradicate illegal drugs from their neighbourhoods".Hours later, police discovered "a very substantial" amount of cannabis, heroin and cocaine at a property off South Road near the Warwick gas station. Two men were later arrested, although it was unclear if they were the occupants of the house. Officers could be seen searching and photographing the property through the afternoon."This is the culmination of a lengthy police investigation into the trafficking of controlled drugs into Bermuda," said Assistant Commissioner David Mirfield, adding that it was too soon to comment any further. The discoveries yesterday follow two recent seizures of cannabis plants in St David's by police.A large haul was collected from a Smith's Hill Drive property at the beginning of this month, a week after four-foot-tall potted plants were found in a "heavily vegetated" area of St David's on June 27.
