A 30-year-old Warwick man who assaulted a woman at the Southampton Rangers Sports Club has been granted a conditional discharge.Stephen Astwood has been held in custody since pleading guilty to intruding on the privacy of a woman, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.Magistrates’ Court heard from Crown counsel Nicole Smith that Astwood, who had been drinking, approached the woman at the club on the night of December 12.Astwood smacked her on the buttocks, then punched the woman in the face when she challenged his actions.Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo gave Astwood a 12-month conditional discharge, ordering him also to pay $186 for medical costs.
