Gavin Manders struck gold at the Island Games

Gavin Manders lost his Island Games singles final in straight sets to Cayman Island's Panav Jha today, but bounced back to grab a gold in the doubles final.Manders took silver in the singles after going down 6-2, 6-3 to Jha, he didn't have time to dwell on the defeat however as he and partner Jenson Bascome were back on court soon after for the all-Bermuda men's doubles final against David Thomas and Naim Azhar.In a close first set, Bascome and Manders came though 7-5, before finishing off their countrymen 6-4 in the second.On the track, Gary Raynor narrowly missed out on bronze in the 1500m, finishing fourth in a time of four minutes, 02.93 seconds just behind Andre Kahlstrom of Gotland who came in 4:02.64.Keith Gerrard from the Isle of Man won the gold medal, finishing in a time of 3:48.45.Bermuda have another shot at gold this afternoon, when the men's basketball team take to the floor to defend their title against Saaremaa.
