Top whale photographer to give lecture and hold workshops in Bermuda

Coming to Bermuda: National Geographic photographer Flip Nicklin.

One of the world’s top whale photographers is coming to Bermuda to give a lecture and host two workshops.National Geographic contributor Flip Nicklin will deliver his one-hour presentation “Among Giants: A Life with Whales” at BUEI at 7pm next Monday.He will also run an underwater photography workshop at the Bermuda Society of Arts (BSoA) on Saturday, July 2 from 10am until 4pm. Another three-day workshop has already sold out.A press release from BSoA said: “Nicklin will share his tips and tricks of open water/underwater photography. The workshop includes an in-depth look at shooting techniques and a review of camera and lighting equipment with discussion on the strengths and weaknesses of systems.”Mr Nicklin’s biography on the National Geographic website says he is “widely regarded as the premier whale photographer of the world”, with more than 5,500 dives under his belt and the ability to free dive to depths of up to 90 feet (27 metres), allowing him to capture whale behaviour without interrupting it.Tickets for the June 27 presentation are $15 for BUEI members and $20 for non-members.
