Brannon was not a 'yes man'
June 19, 2011Dear Sir,I wanted to add my voice to the others saying how disappointed we are that the Minister responsible for Tourism had to remove Tony Brannon from his tourism appointment. I understand his ideas are controversial and not exactly the PLP party line, but his energy and experience was and still is needed as we evolve a new tourism product for our Island. If the issue that removed him was only gambling, they could have agreed to disagree and still had his valuable input.Bermudians can be blunt and sometimes abrasive, so when Government included them in the conversation, they can't expect a Bermudian to act like a compliant work permit holder who just shuts up to keep their job.If Premier Cox and her colleagues just want yes men surrounding their administration, they will not be able to create a new balanced policy for tourism this country and its people so desperately need.CHARLES SPANSWICKCity of Hamilton
