Boat registrations to be made online
Registration for boats and moorings licences will be open for three months from next Wednesday, the Department of Marine and Ports said today.
The period, which includes registration for commercial boats, will run from April 1 to June 30.
A spokesman explained: “In light of Covid-19 and minimising the spread of the virus in Bermuda, Boats and Moorings offices are closed to walk in customers and the public is encouraged to practice social distancing by making their payments online at www.marineandports.bm or via mail.
“The deadline for online licence renewal is extended to midnight on Tuesday, June 30. Licences not renewed by this date will incur a late fee.”
Anyone paying by mail was asked to allow sufficient time for delivery.
The spokesman said: “Payments for outstanding fees due in the current registration year will also be accepted.
“All decals will be mailed and moorings and boats should have 2021 decals in place by July 1 or as soon as possible, following receipt.”
Owners were asked to make sure that all information on file with the department is current. To update details, call 294-0419 or e-mail boatsandmoorings@gov.bm.
The spokesman added: “Please note that ownership transfer of boats and moorings must be done in person with a valid form of identification.”
To pay by mail, address payment to Department of Marine and Ports, Boats and Moorings, P.O. Box HM 180, Hamilton, HM AX, Bermuda.
