Stealing a package of codfish proved costly for a Pembroke man, after a supermarket employee jotted down his car licence number.Craig Simmons, 50, of Berkeley Road, admitted in Magistrates’ Court to stealing the $20 package of fish from Howard’s Mini Mart, in Devonshire, on March 31.The store’s manager showed police CCTV footage of Simmons placing the package inside his jacket, and the plate number identified him as the owner of the car.Approached by police in Bernard Park on May 5, Simmons told them: “I know what this is all about.”Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him $200.
