CedarBridge faces $1.8m of cuts - sources

Sources have told The Royal Gazette that CedarBridge Academy has been instructed to trim $1.8 million from its budget, with an unspecified number of staff redundancies said to be in the works.Although school principal Kalmar Richards was not available last night for comment, The Royal Gazette understands that cutbacks will include the elimination of at least one position, as well as redundancies in the form of contracts not renewed.Berkeley Institute is also said to face cuts of $1.4 million.In the Budget unveiled in February, the Ministry of Education saw its funds for this fiscal year reduced by about ten percent, or $12 million, with a total of $128.15 million allocated.
