From China to Ghana, Warwick Academy pupils explore the world

International Day: Students and teachers at Warwick Academy had a grub day to raise money for Japan yesterday. The students dressed in an international costume, parents and students made food that is from their heritage and at recess there was a food tasting of it all. Students at Warwick Academy may live on a small island in the Atlantic Ocean, but they can now tell you a thing or two about the world’s countries surrounding them.The school recently hosted an International Day so that students could get to grips with the customs and traditions of different countries around the globe.The annual event to teach students about the world they live in saw a variety of new classes on the timetable, including Scottish dancing, African dance and salsa.There were also classes in world cinema, Japanese art and Spanish cooking.From China to Ghana and everywhere in between, the students proudly flew the flag for different countries.They followed traditional recipes from different countries and at lunchtime took themselves on a round-the-world food tasting journey.
