I'd shuttle the tourists

May 3, 2011Dear Sir,The Ministry of Transport knows when cruise ships arrive. It is their duty to cater to tourists since they have always been our bread and butter. If the powers that be cannot have sufficient modes of transportation readily available to accommodate our very much needed source of income, to the extent that we are now being negatively represented in news media around the world, then step down and let someone with a true sense of Bermuda's welfare start organising whatever is needed to make these tourists happy and comfortable and willing to return, instead of angry, frustrated and anxious to spread the bad word that Bermuda is “one of the worst ports”. Nice … just what we need in this day of economic turmoil.Instead of more unnecessary Government expenditure, how about fixing the buses that were reported out of commission? How about having the ferries available even though it may be “lunchtime”?We Bermudians must go above and beyond for our tourists. If I could, I would be shuttling them for free.FUMING LOCALDevonshire
