April 11, 2011Dear Sir,I had a successful business – meaning I could pay my bills and still have enough money to support myself, put some in savings and add money to my retirement plan.The meteoric decline in tourism over the last few years forced me to close my business. I tried to use my savings to buoy my company but ending up closing in December, 2009. Yes, I should have seen it coming and cut my losses much sooner but then any new buyer of my business would never had a chance to succeed.Part of the irony in closing my business is that I did all the right things. I contacted every Government department to notify them that my business closed. I am still receiving Social Insurance invoices every month 16 months later so I guess I will now be put on that shame list for non-payment. I was sent a letter that under law I must participate in a Payroll Tax audit or be fined. No payroll since 2009…anyone see the picture?I am seeking employment – any Government jobs out there?
