Eliza DoLittle Society assisted with PB&J sandwich competition
A US based group of companies hosted a peanut butter and jelly competition in a bid to feed the Island’s needy.Hotel Interactive Charities hosted an event on Monday and saw teams competing to assemble the most peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in thirty minutes. The event had 150 volunteers and 1,259 sandwiches were made.In addition to handing out the sandwiches, made with ingredients donated by Smuckers and the Fairmont Southampton, the group donated $4,435 to the Eliza DoLittle Society’s Daily Bread programme. The society’s executive director, Margaret Ward, said: “This event was one of a kind. It not only gave us the opportunity to bridge international waters but it also fostered better relations with Bermuda’s charities.”Hotel Interactive Charities is a partnership between BITAC and Hotel Interactive and promotes charitable activities in support of organisations within the hospitality and tourism industries.
