Inflation at 2.2 percent

Inflation in January was 2.2 percent, figures released this afternoon showed.The rate was a drop on the 2.7 percent recorded in December, according to the consumer price index figures.The health and personal care sector remained the largest contributor to the increase with prices rising by 7.7 percent.Rent, and fuel and power sectors also impacted strongly on the annual rate of inflation. Price shifts in these two sectors were 1.6 percent and 8.2 percent, respectively.
