Students strive for their Duke of Edinburgh Award

Hundreds of teenagers spent the weekend trekking across the Island as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze expedition.Around 200 students participated in the overnight expedition in hopes of receiving their bronze award.The weekend began with a meeting of participants on Friday at the Bermuda High School “to prepare for non-competitive and community-building activities as they strive to reach one common goal: to complete their Duke of Edinburgh ‘Bronze’ expedition and ultimately receive the Bronze Award,” a spokesman said.Participant must volunteer, get involved in a physical activity and work on a skill for three months to earn the award.l Useful website:www.dofe.org.
