Dellwood students adopt Parson's Road Playground
Dellwood Middle School students have adopted Parson's Road Playground. The students will be working with Keep Bermuda Beautiful to ensure the playground near their school remains trash free.
Joseph Robinson, team leader of the M1 students and social studies teacher, said a rota has been organised so that every two weeks a form-room from the school would be in charge of cleaning the area.
"It came about because we have been trying to create a better image and relationship with our community," he said. "Many of our children live in the area and walk to school, so the park is their park. We thought let's target an area they can monitor and be proud of."
Richard Lathan, executive director of KBB, said the school had pledged to clean the area up until the end of March.
"We are really excited about it because the area could use a little help," he said. "We would encourage other schools to do the same."
